I went to a cheerleading banquet this week. I was not a cheerleader…and none of my daughters ever were. I was just there because my daughter was going to be in a skit. Or at least so I thought. The truth is I was where God wanted me to be.
It was a nice evening of meeting new friends and connecting with old, but then the keynote speaker got up.
Her words really spoke to me and now days later I have decided that maybe I should share them with you so you too can ponder them in your heart.
She talked about how she had been shy as a child, and then she became a cheerleader. She then talked about how cheering had not only taught her to speak out loud and clear but so much more.
She spoke about how you never hear a cheerleader speaking negatively on the court. They don’t shout….you are going to miss! She challanged the girls to take their cheering off of the court. Speak out loud..speak up clear…speak positively…
We as women have so many opportunities to do this in our lives. So today I challenge you to be a cheerleader in your world. It can make all the difference to someone’s game.
