On Feb 1st, daughter number three went into labor as we were stuck in airports trying to get to her. Thankfully, we made it just a couple of hours after our 2nd grandson was born. By Cesarean…that may not seem to important at this point but trust me you will start to understand why that is important to the story.
It is hard to believe that that was almost 4 months ago. After we stayed a week, loving on our grandson, we went back to Florida, not really sure when we would see him again. Then his momma had a gall bladder attack …..Her husband was about to head off for a month of military maneuvers so she packed the baby up..and took a five hour trip to get to us.
Surgery happened, and after 10 longs days of not being able to lift her baby, things were starting to look up. It seemed like a perfect time to give her a baby shower. She grew up here in Florida so everyone wanted to pour lots of love onto her and the baby. Then the day before the shower…out of the blue, we were back at the hospital. This time….appendicitis…can you believe it?!! If you aren’t keeping track, that is three abdominal surgeries in 3 and a half months.
What were we to do? People had already traveled hours to get here for this event…Why not have the shower at the hospital????
We checked with the hospital and they told us we could use

….no planned surgeries for a Sunday. So even though many thought it strange…we decorated the room and had a wonderful time.
While the decorating took place….little sister did her sister’s hair
As a mom I love seeing my 14 year old so willing to have a servants’ heart.
My oldest daughter once again went over the top with all the decorating….she is amazing!

I think the adorable life ring is going to end up in the baby’s nautical nursery…

Beautiful flowers can make evan a cold waiting room look lovely. Don’t you love how she wrapped the top of the bottle ….and look at the shells in the bottom of the bottle.

How cute are these!!!!! They are just Jello with mandarin oranges for boats….so cute! I thought the upside down basket was genius too. One of those double duty things…carried in the basket and then the basket was used for display.

I think the anchors were one of my favorite things….I just loved how they carried the theme….notice the stars aren’t flat…isn’t that cool.

It was such a beautiful shower!!!!! I am so proud of my daughter for doing all of this for her sister…. Check her blog at http://supercraftysister.wordpress.com/2012/05/01/pom-pom-flowers/ I’m sure that once she has a chance to exhale, she will be having posts on all this.
