They Poured the Slab!

If you follow me on facebook then you probably already know that they poured the slab of the house this week….

I have found myself filled with all kind of emotions…

excitement

fear

disbelief

And lots of questions…

Rather on dwelling on those thoughts, I have asked God to teach me thru this building process…

I would like to make a side note here…

I HAVE NOT BEEN PRAYING THAT GOD WOULD TEACH ME PATIENCE!!!!

Nor is anyone else to be praying that for me….I know full well that the only way for God to teach us patience is very frustrating and I really don’t think I am up for that. Of course I’m not sure when anyone would sign up for that lesson….

No…I figure there are a lot of other life lessons that he has for me…if I remember to pause and listen…

So as I was watching that concrete pour out of the truck into where my house will be, I got thinking about God’s love…

At the moment we become Christians, God pours His love into us…we are filled with it

But just because we have God’s love in us doesn’t mean that that the love looks to good to the rest of the world…God needs to work on us so that love looks the way he wants it to…

Often times we think we are pretty good…I have God’s love…I look gooood to the world. Just as I thought the slab looked pretty good

Then God brings out the big stuff to refine and polish us…he wants the love inside us to shine so bright that all the world can see it.

Refine me Lord…make my love reflect you.
