My Story

I thought it might be time to catch some of my new followers up with what is happening in my life.

Wow…where do I begin?

May of 2011 I was not a grandmother…now I have two grandsons

and a grand daughter on the way…

A year ago I was living in the home where I had raised all four of my daughters. We lived there for nearly 25 years

when we literally sold it in one day…

Saying good bye to that house was very hard

But we knew we had exciting adventures ahead of us

Since then my husband, myself, our 14 year old daughter and dog have been living in a 500 sq. foot cottage

Our new home is being built literally right before our eyes  as we are living in the guest cottage in the backyard.

We are so thankful that God has blessed us in so many ways, so we decided to write His word in the doorway of our new house.

“In this place I will grant peace, declares the Lord Almighty”

Haggai 2:9

.

When she got done writing this for me she ran up to her new room and added “her” verse over the door jam…

Daughter #2 came by with her family and her husband decided that they needed to add a verse too..

Proverbs 16:3

Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed.

Maybe I need to see if my other kids want to add a verse. It’s fun seeing what everyone picks.

God has blessed me so much…not just with things like a nice house but with many people that I love.

  1. Jeremiah 29:11 is my favorite as well. It’s basically my daily mantra. What a great way to bless your new house!

  2. I lOVE that you put verses in the foundation of your home! And what a wonderful verse at the doorway. . .LOVE IT! :)

So…as the mother of four girls, what advice would you give this newbie? My daughter turned 13 in April and as I’m sure you can imagine, life is shifting. I so badly want to mother her well and I can tell I don’t have all the answers!

I love the scriptures you put in your house.

    • Encourage your daughter to believe in herself. The problem is while we are doing that we often look like we are being pushy….so I guess my best advice would be live by example…believe in yourself. And pray ALOT!

I would love to build one more house before we retire, a single level about 1800 sq feet with 2 bedrooms or a third like a den. Wonderful big kitchen and a utility room (currently mine is under the stairs). I would want a pantry and a really NICE master bathroom with a big bedroom.
Yep that is what I want maybe a jetted tub too.
