Do you ever just find yourself waiting a bit to long? That is what happened to me…
I saw these chairs at Pottery Barn….

I loved them right away. For the longest time I have wanted wicker chairs in my dining room, but since my dining room didn’t really exist, I thought it would be best for me to wait. I was trying to be practical…maybe they would come down in price I thought. Maybe I will find something I like just as much on Craigslist. Well today I decided that I was tired of looking…I want chairs for my family to sit and have a meal when we move in, and since I sold our old set before we moved, it was time to bite the bullet and order the chairs….I went to Pottery Barn’s site and there staring at me were those words….No longer available.
I felt like the Julia Roberts character in My Best Friends Wedding. I didn’t realize how much I wanted them until that moment. I would love to hear what you waited too long to act on…somehow I think it might make me feel better…it a sick kind of way.
If you know of anyone else that sells great wicker chairs please let me know.

I feel your pain, Dianne…. I have waited too long for
“stuff” and also kept “stuff” too long waiting
for something I wanted! At least you have
turned loose of the old and are now looking
for the new ( or new to you) . Do not wallow
in your sorrow…. Or feel guilty for not striking
sooner! Joel 2:25 tells what God will do…this was my verse
today for some regrets I was experiencing! Hope it blesses you!
Thanks Elizabeth…I can tell you that at this point I can’t even remember what I have “turned loose”…moving day should be interesting.
I waited until the end of summer to buy my son’s luggage set for a trip to Disney this year. It’s his first so I decided to Spring for something unique and special. Well I only managed to get the small suitcase and the telescope backpack. Huge disappointment overall; because A. he won’t wear the backpack only roll it because the frame digs into his back and B. the suitcase is really small. I waited to long to get the larger pieces and PBK had a summer clear out sale! This happens to me all the time, but I think of it as mean’t to be, and when I’ve lost an item I desperately wanted it has a way of finding me again or changing the direction I needed to go in the first place. The sofa I wanted 12 years ago disappeared (store closed), then reappeared second hand at a much more affordable price, allowing me to meet an amazing woman I’ll never forget. Great experience that took a decade to play out-thankful!
I love your couch story..I also love that you still loved it a decade later…now that is love!
Dianne…I would call Pottery Barn. It’s possible they would still have enough left to accomodate you. That has worked out for me in the past. It’s worth a shot, anyway. Good luck!
No! I hate when that happens. And I agree – call Pottery Barn. They do have Pottery Barn outlets and they may have gone straight to the outlets…which would also mean that they are discounted! Best of luck!

Oh no!
I love the idea of wicker dining chairs for a beach house, though, and those were really cute!
I found these cute ones at Overstock.com, but they’re out of stock right now: http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Casco-Bay-Black-Wicker-Dining-Chair/3000532/product.html
You can still check out their other similar chairs.
Also see the ones at Crate & Barrel:

Thanks…I am just afraid to order chairs I haven’t sat in…guess I’m a picky sitter…lol
Haha! I know what you mean! I remember going out (if you’ll excuse the term) “butt-testing” when my family was buying new furniture.
If I were ordering online, I’d go sit in some chairs and figure out what made chairs comfortable/uncomfortable to me (seat width, seat depth, back tilt, etc) and go from there. It’s not as complicated as picking a couch, when you have things like springiness and cushiness to contend with. Good luck!
true..I guess that is possible…Thanks ..I hadn’t really thought about researching it that way.

It is commonly agreed that the dining table is the staple of any family home; a chance for hectic lifestyles to take a pause and children and parents to sit down, share a meal and gather their thoughts. In today’s modern day, technology obsessed, fast paced lifestyle; meal times are now quite easily the only time for family members to communicate with one another yet having said that it is still common for many to neglect their choice in dining furniture.,..
