Remembering When

Every family needs a place where they can just relax and get to know each other. Where generations can come together on even ground and just laugh the days away. Where a lot of “remember when” conversations can happen.

We have one of those places…in fact you see it every time you click on my blog…

This is me a few years back at our quaint little resort. We started going there when our third daughter was about a year old….she is now 25. Since then the children have grown older..and I suppose us adults have too…hehehe. Many of the friends that use to come with us have moved away…and some of the family members have passed away…but there is something about this place that keeps drawing us back.

When my father in law passed away many years ago, we packed up as a family, aunts..uncles…cousins…we all ran here. It was a place to heal as a family…a place to laugh again..and a place to “remember when”

When we were there this past weekend, I went out early one morning and took these pictures ….it was as if this place had somehow captured the laughter thru the years…It brought a smile to my face remembering my daughter draped in a life jacket …a swim tube and swimmies, trying to get brave enough to get in the pool… There was her entire family cheering her on…as families do.

I remember my dad saying…the more people that a kid knows loves them, the better they will be…Here…at our resort, my children were circled in love…and encouragement.

It is now time to welcome the next generation to the family vacation spot…may you to always be surrounded with fond memories of family love and laughter….

Maybe some day he will bring his children’s children here and tell them..I remember when..
