We did it! We spent the first night in our new home….we have no window treatments…or area rug in the family room, so the house echos a lot! I keep reminding myself that our home that we had for the past 25 years didn’t feel warm and cozy at first either. It takes time as most good things in life do.
My daughter…http://www.thewannabeathlete.com/ is expecting her second child and I got the privaledge of attending a wonderful baby shower yesterday that her friends threw for her…

Since my daughter is a blogger this gift cracked me up…

It’s from Target in case you all want to go out and buy it.

It was just nine ladies at the shower but I have to say it was one of the best showers I have ever been to.

Not only was the food wonderful…and the decorations elegent…but the joy and laughter that was shared left you feeling complete.
My oldest daughter http://supercraftysister.com/ gets the award for the most creative gift…

Her and her sister had ordered a baby monitor but it hadn’t come in yet…no picture in a wrapped box for her…She wrapped soup cans marking one mommy and the other baby.
As you can see…this gift cracked me up!

Now let me move on to the point of this post….
All this baby stuff got me thinking about how building a custom house is a lot like pregnancy….ok hang in there with me…
It starts with a plan…often just you and your husband are even having such crazy ideas…you fear about money but at some point you just decide to go for it.
Starting to get my thought process a bit?
The first trimester….
houseplans…bidding and bank work…a lot is going on but no one can see it. People are excited for you but they don’t really understand that even though you are listening to them …and you really care about their life..you are a bit consumed with your own right now.
The second trimester…
Other’s can start to see something…you are excited…you spend a lot of time imagining what your new life is going to be like. You spend a lot of time researching things that you know you are going to need but feel silly buying them this early.
The third trimester…
Around this time people say things like…wow…”that went quick”..and you want to punch them. You just want it all to be done..you are tired.
The final push….
Everyone is really excited for you on this big day…and you are too…but if you have ever given birth you know that as excited as everyone is you know that you still have a lot of work ahead of you …This is how moving day is.
It’s like labor…exciting…tiring…scary….
So I am proud to annouce that we now have a new home for our family….it’s a bit bigger than I was thinking it was going to be…as babies can be sometimes, but we love it and we can’t wait to see what life adventures we will share.
May this be a home that we always remember to slow down and Thank God for that which He has provided for us today…

This is the first sunrise that God gave me off my new balcony…I am blessed!
