Setting a Mood with Fans

Here I sit…pretending to watch Modern Family as I wonder if I can ask my family to move the furniture one more time.

I am  really having a hard time taking this space and making it feel like home. I know it will take time and everyday it is getting better, I just have to realize that I am still missing some pretty major pieces.

I have an area rug coming …that should help the echo so I really think that will help. Drapes would help too, but I am having a hard time finding ones long enough that don’t cost a fortune. I’m not sure what I want, and having to figure it out for all the rooms at the same time is feeling a bit overwhelming to me right now.

I have made so many decisions in the past year I think my brain is on strike.

So until I really have any decorating pictures to show you I thought I would show you some of the house that you may not have seen pictures of yet.

This is the view looking up from my foyer. Yep…those are our fans. There was  something about them that caught my eye in the store. My daughter hates them but I’m glad I bought them. When they slowly spin there is just something peaceful about them. Someone told me that they look very restoration hardware…that made me smile…I love that store. Well I did…their new look is not really me.

I have yet to buy any other fans for the house…guess I’m pretty hard to impress when it comes to fans…who knew? I did find this for the family room

I love the island feel it would give my room….But I think I probably need drapes more, so I will just store this thought for now.

So the question is….Do any of you have a two bladed fan? And if so does your husband tell everyone he got it half off…and then gets the giggles like he hasn’t said the joke a dozen times. By the way in case you didn’t know….my husbands idol is Phil from Modern Family.

Love the fans you already have – don’t have a two bladed fan, but I think they look great – wonder if they effectively circulate the air, though…

  2. I’m pretty sure Dad is the inspiration the writers from Modern Family used when they created Phil’s character. :)

    LOVE the fans!
