Let’s talk babies….first of all I need to tell you my mother’s quote.
“You won’t have it all figured out until you are a grandma and then no one will care.”
That makes me laugh the older I get. I get it, many of our ideas are old fashioned, even out dated . Babies on their stomach or on their back seems to change every 1o years and no matter which way it is there is someone telling you that the baby will die if you put it the other way. It’s amazing that any babies ever survived before the internet.
Feeding the baby is something every mother struggles with. Breast feeding of course is wonderful , and easy. At least for some. It was never easy for me so I switched to bottles pretty early. I’m here to tell you if you find yourself in the same spot it’s ok. My children feel loved, and they grew up healthy.
What I love about these bottles is the fact that they are long enough to tuck under your chin so you can hold the baby and the bottle while helping big sister off the toilet.
My daughter uses both these
This brings me to the one advice I would give any new mom …if they asked…which of course they don’t…hehehee..
Make it easy on YOU.
My daughter thought she needed to put black out curtains in the nursery . I asked her to pause before she did that. She is going to be bringing home a baby that has been sleeping in a hospital with bright lights. Don’t you want that baby to be able to sleep everywhere?
She took my advice and I now have grandbabies that can sleep anywhere.
My daughter actually took my advice even farther than I had thought about. In my day I would have to anticipate when the baby might scream for the bottle so I had time to heat it to the right temperature. Not my daughter, they both took their bottles at any temperature, even right out of the fridge. No heating up baby food…they will eat that cold too.
So before you buy that wipe warmer…or sound machine…or anything else that Babies R Us wants to sell you. Think, will this make my life easier or harder?
Rest assured that there are babies all over this world that feel loved without the latest gadget, and your baby will too.
